In a very real sense, my experience with Reiki energy goes back to 1979. During a metaphysical counseling session I felt this vital, dynamic, life sustaining energy flowing through me. Unfortunately an energy described the way I did it, was not part of the modality that I was engaged in at that time. When I told my counselor about it she cocked her head to one side, smiled sweetly, and said “that’s nice”. Then she proceeded with her prescribed process.

I knew, without a doubt, that I had experienced something very, very real. I could very easily “tap” into it, and over the years I used it in a crude manner to heal myself, with dramatic results on a couple of occasions. But it was hit or miss as I really had no idea what I was dealing with, or how to effectively use this gift.

Eventually corporate career, family matters, and a “normal” life took precedence for me. For a couple of decades my path into the magic, beauty, and power of life and the Universe took a detour.

During the summer of 2000 my Dad was dying from cancer. I intuitively knew that there was something I could do to ease his transition. I felt it had something to do with this energy that I knew flowed through me. I also felt that there was something that I could do with my hands. But with no training, or knowledge of a technique or method to do this, I was left with terrible, soul crushing frustration. This culminated one evening in terrible despair and tears. My poor wife, Linda, must have thought I was having a nervous breakdown of some kind.

Several years later a friend of mine told me that she was going to be taking “Reiki” classes. Having never heard of this before, I asked her was it was.

She described Reiki to me as channeling a Universal Life Energy through a person’s hands to the benefit, and healing of another.

In that moment, time literally stopped for me. Twenty six years of mystery and frustration simply evaporated.

I signed up for those classes, and my life has never been the same.

Today I deliver Reiki sessions to clients, and teach all three levels, including Master Teacher. I have free introductory sessions to inform people about Reiki, and give them a chance to experience it for themselves.

Reiki has also given me a launching pad to investigate and take on other modalities, and forms of healing. I have studied Polarity Therapy, EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique), and I’m currently investigating Crystal Healing, and Qi Gong. It has enriched my life in ways that I never dreamed possible, and continues to do so.
